AACS
RELEASES NEW JOB BOARD for STUDENTS
and EMPLOYERS
How
is my student going to find their
perfect job? Salons looking for more
applicants?
The
career connection released by the
American Association of Cosmetology
Schools (AACS) last month could be the
answer.
Job
Board websites have been around for a
couple of years now, but the
hairdressing/ cosmetology jobs have
always seemed to get lost in the
shuffle. With AACS, the career
connection is totally dedicated to the
cosmetology world where job seekers
will be seen by the audience they were
intended for. This helps students
explore available job openings and
find the opportunities that are just
right for them.
AACS
implemented the Career connection job
board on their website to help job
seekers in the cosmetology community
find new employment opportunities. The
new job board allows students,
graduates, and site users, a place to
post their resumes for free. Along
with a resume bank, the site offers
listings of career opportunities in
the cosmetology field. This job bank
is available for all job seekers to
search.
The
career connection offers many advanced
features. These features include a Job
Alert system that notifies job seekers
by email of new job opportunities that
match their search criteria and an
anonymous resume feature that enables
job seekers to list their experience
and qualifications in a protected
environment. By giving both active and
passive job seekers the ability to
anonymously post their resumes, this
allows job seekers to stay connected
to the employment market while
maintaining full control of their
confidential information.

Connection, please visit http://www.beautyschools.org

Long Island Nail
& Skin Care Institute Aids Katrina Evacuee
September 21, 2005 -- The Long
Island Nail & Skin Care Institute,
Levittown, NY put out a request to
assist in getting product together for
a new student.
Joann has relocated to Long Island
because of hurricane Katrina from the
New Orleans area. She called the
school asking about grants for the
Nail Specialty course. Dana Caruso,
Director, agreed to enroll her in
school at no cost and asked Debbie
Doerrlamm, webmaster www.beautytech.com
, to help reach out to beauty
manufacturers and suppliers to
assemble a student kit for the new
enrollee. Elena Desmonie, Director of
Admissions, and Ms. Caruso had already
reached out to several local
businesses and groups to successfully
obtain clothing for Joann.
Several manufacturers sent product
and supplies so Joann could begin
classes early October. Nailite,
Inc, Sunrise, FL and Creative
Nail Design, Vista, CA we
exceptionally generous in putting
together the items needed for the
student kit.
Alice of Burmax,
Holtsville, NY donated a lab coat,
books, case and other important items
to complete the student kit.
Ms. Doerrlamm additionally set up a
new section in the message board/forum
area at www.beautytech.com/forums
to people to post needs and offers of
jobs, products, housing and more.
